George Kikvadze is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Bitfury Group and a member of the Global Blockchain Business Council. Kikvadze is a controversial figure in the crypto-sphere; advocating amongst other things, for a restriction in the number of wallet addresses individuals can hold to reduce crime. In 2018 a white paper was presented by Bitfury with the aim of reducing criminality on the blockchain, which many bitcoin advocates condemned as de-anonymizing the service, which they see as one of its core strength.

Kikvadze also made a number of controversial claims in a blog post titled ‘Seven Myths of Bitcoin’, including an assertion that bitcoin does not consume more energy than fiat currency.
