Preet Bharara was the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) from 2009 until his firing by Jeff Sessions. During his tenure with the district, he prosecuted 100 Wall Street executives for insider trading and other offenses.

More recently, the SDNY has launched many major probes around the finances of Donald J. Trump as well as prosecuting Michel Cohen.
