Ronna McDaniel wrote a tweet attacking Kamala Harris,  she claimed the following:

Claim 1:

” When Kamala Harris was AG, her top aide harassed a staffer & the office paid $1M+ in settlements”

Fact Check1:

Claim 2:

” As a city prosecutor, her crime lab technician snorted evidence & 1,000 drug-related cases were dismissed”

Fact Check 2: True

  1. Harris took full responsibility for her management of the AG’s office during the Deborah Madden scandal when it was discovered that Madden who had a previous criminal history had taken material evidence from her work in the form of cocain salts for her own personal use. The issue that led to more 1,000 cases being dismissed was actually due to Harris’ office failing to disclose this in cases that relied on results from the lab that Madden worked in, as required by Brady vs. Maryland 1963 decision, to defense attorneys for three months.
