    “a credit card paid off at the next statement ” is not cash. It may be a close equivalent, but then when I hear that half of all households don’t have $400 cash I do assume that a lot of those households have credit cards that can get them through a short term debt. I certainly would not describe a claim as only “mostly true” because some people have access to short term interest free debt via credit cards and that is almost like having cash. I suggest that we change the report to “true as far as we can check” unless we can get statistics that are actually just cash.

    Should we rate this claim as ” mostly true”? because it’s Senator Kamala mentioned ” about half” and the source we found mentions 4 in ten?
