Capital-government-newspaper relations are a dark deal between the wealthy who own the media and politicians who hold power. The first offer generous and sympathetic coverage – the latter contribute to the deal decisions that benefit the wealthy. The paper misleads the media consumer, who receives biased and fabricated reports about reality, and the politician in turn contributes to convenient regulation of the tycoon’s business, such as legislation that facilitates his business activities and privatization, which allows him to purchase state owned assets for the price of bowl of beans and all at the expense of the public interest of course.

This is a particularly corrupt phenomenon.
