Tiger Woods breaks five-year drought by winning Tour Championship

Tiger Woods shrugged off the doldrums of not winning for five-years  by putting his name to the Tour Championship – his 80th career PGA victory.

Once the undisputed world’s best golfer, Woods has been plagued by injury woes for years.

He lead throughout the final round and finished with a 11-under-par 269 at East Lake.

A crowd followed Woods down the 18th fairway in celebration of Woods’ accomplishment. It moves him within two victories of Sam Snead’s all-time record.

“I was having a hard time not crying coming up the last hole,” Woods said. “All of a sudden it started hitting me I was going to win the tournament.

“I’ve been sitting on 79 (wins) for five years now. To get 80 is a pretty damn good feeling.”
