Wikitribune is attending the Green Finance Summit 2018 next Tuesday. We hope to focus on three key topics on the agenda:

1. Green infrastructure financing as a key to a sustainable economy:

A panel will discuss the investment cases for green energy and infrastructure in the UK, as well as examining how the UK’s public sector, foreign governments, and investors can facilitate the sector.

2. Growing the green digital finance market:

This will examine how the private sector, academia, and policymakers can work together to help the green digital finance market growing. How can participants embed new green finance technologies into markets?

3. Greening the Belt and Road:

This session will address the environmental impact of China’s Belt and Road initiative, which hopes to impact around 65 countries with large infrastructure projects. The panel will also look into the collaboration between the City of London and international investors who aim to support sustainable initiatives.

Questions we hope to answer:

What is new about green finance in the UK and what are the current trends?

What actions are needed to drive market development?

What are the current trends related to citizens investing in green infrastructure?

What are the most efficient ways capital markets can be leveraged to support sustainable growth?

What role does the financial services industry play to develop sustainable economies?

Experts attending the summit include:

Alban de Fay: head of Fixed Income SRI, Amundi Asset Management

Gavin Templeton: head of Sustainable Finance Green Investment Group

Heleni Pantelidou: Associate Director, Geotechnics & Infrastructure Arup

Miroslav Petkov: Director, Sustainable Finance, Financial Services S&P Global Ratings

Sherry Madera: special advisor for Asia City of London Corporation
