Portugália cancels airline strike

The Portuguese National Union of Cabin Crew Staff for Civil Aviation has announced in a short message (translated below) that a forthcoming strike has been cancelled.

Following the general assembly of workers which happened today [Tuesday], around 19:30, we announce that the strike of Portugália Airlines, previously set to happen between the 11 and the 16 of July by the Portuguese National Union of Cabin Crew Staff for Civil Aviation, has been dismissed.

Before the cancellation, a court had decided not to activate the rule of minimum services, which would force the company to provide flight services in critical situations.

The cause of the planned strike is reportedly growing discontentment between Portugália crew members and workers of the TAP group, which owns the airline.
