Epic Games’s Fortnite is one of the most widely-played games in the world.

But Fortnite has been singled out for criticism because of the monetizing methods it uses to keep users playing. Critics have labelled the mechanisms “a compulsion” or even “addiction”.

With stories (Mirror) of children as young as nine addicted to the popular game, fears are growing of the game’s potentially nefarious effects.
