There seem to be three stories on this topic: this one, “Civil liberties groups fight to limit police using facial recognition technology”, and “Facial recognition software ‘primed for abuse’ say campaigners”. What, if any, is the difference between their intended content?

Hi Jennifer. We are trying different ways to make stories more open and inviting for collaboration from the beginning. So I initially wrote a brief intro to the topic (“primed for abuse”), with a link to a draft story that could be developed slowly into a feature, with more time for collaboration – that started as “civil liberties groups…” then when the reporting and writing had moved forward it was given a more appropriate headline. In retrospect, it may be unnecessarily confusing to have two different pages for effectively the same story but all feedback welcome. Jack
