In the aftermath of last week’s Parkland mass shooting, according to ABC News and grassroots activist Ryan Knight, 20 major companies and brands, such as MetLife, Hertz, and United Airlines have severed ties with the NRA. Furthermore, Amazon, FedEx, Apple, and Google are being targeted by the #BoycottNRA movement.
The February 25 front page of the New York Daily News featured an article headlined “Deliver Us From Evil” criticising FedEx for continuing to work with NRA.
“In the days since the Florida school shooting, the push for boycotts and meaningful change has mobilized faster than with previous mass shootings,” according to the New York Times.
The students from the Parkland school have received significant media attention, and in the midst of their grief, have mobilized to protest the lack of gun controls in America.
From confronting Florida’s Senator Marco Rubio at a CNN sponsored town hall event to organizing a march on Washington on March 24th, the students are a growing force.
