Donald Trump wrote a tweet attacking US Representatives Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He claimed the following:

Claim 1:

“Omar is polling at 8%…”

Fact Check 1:

According to a recent CBSNews/YouGov poll of a “nationally representative sample of 2,099 U.S. residents”, Omar has a 19% favorability rating, over double the number given by Trump. However, USA Today has reported that the number given by Trump is similar to a poll taken of white males without college education.

Claim is Misleading and inaccurate.

Claim 2:

“…Cortez at 21%.”

Fact Check 2:

According to the same CBSNews/YouGov poll Ocasio-Cortez has a favorability rating of 23%, which is pretty close to the number Trump used, and technically within the margin of error on that poll (+/- 2.3%).

Claim is Mostly true.
