  1. Joseph, I’ve removed a couple of paras which are assertion – they’re in the overmatter box.
However, hoping to publish on June 15.

  2. Hi Joseph, another editor from WikiTribune central … that’s a fine piece but WT is here for hard news and neutral evidence-based journalism and has to be strict about that. Have a look at your piece, which I started editing. There’s a lot of comment and analysis. Everything has to be pinned down so it is not opinion. Would you be able to rewrite without the commentary?

    1. Hi
yes I knew this was going to need to happen, I just haven’t had a lot of time lately to do so. Thankyou for your help so far. I have made a pass today at chopping it down and see you have italicised some parts. Will continue doing so. However, A few of the italicises parts I do have a slight disagreement with as they are verifiable fact and have references to support.

eg “Duque has now continued the strategy of mining this deep and unjustified vein of opposition to the transitional justice elements of the peace process to garner votes for a more hard-line approach towards FARC.”
This is directly followed by a reference – I don’t think any serious authority in Colombia would argue this is happening…
“Colombia Reports states that Duque has threatened on the campaign trail to unilaterally amend the peace deal and to pull the plug on ongoing talks with the ELN (the last remaining socialist rebel group). ”

Perhaps i’ll just reword it slightly to be less opinion.

      1. That’s great, Joseph, I’m glad you understand. And it is a fine line between obvious impressions and uncontested facts! I’ll check in again later.

  3. Hi Ed,

I am co-editor of Scoop Publishing and I can assure you this piece is not copyright of Scoop. It is in fact slightly different to the version published on Scoop anyway.

I hope that is sufficient but let me know if you need further assurance.

    Cheers
    Joseph Cederwall
