Hi Ed! I’ve noticed that you’ve started a page on water, and since I’m conducting an investigation on the water crisis I have a big document of sources I have read so far if that’d be of interest to you?

      Hi Hannah,

Great to hear from you. Yes, that sounds amazing, thanks. I’ve just added a sources section to the Water WikiProject page with your suggestions on desalination.

Could you add them in there? Or if you’ve got a large amount maybe we should start a separate “Water Sources” story? That might be neater.

      What do you think?

    Hi, Ed!
I didn’t know who else to ask, so since you got involved with my EU citizens’ initiative story, I thought maybe you could help me out.
I went into the advanced story editor for that story and submitted it for revision so it can be published. And the draft disappeared from the site. I can still view it from my account, but it’s otherwise gone, including from my profile. Is this how the revision process is supposed to work?

Hi Radu, that’s very odd. Thanks for letting me know.

I’ll find the article and edit it now.

      Thanks

      Hi Radu,

From my investigations I think this happened as you were using the “advanced editor”. Until a few months ago we used to use that for all stories and they all went into a pending queue.

With our recently launched front-end editor, however, that no longer happens and it should be a much smoother user experience.

So while the advanced editor is still needed for certain things we’re encouraging everyone to used the front-end editor.

Give me a shout with any questions on this.

Thanks again for the story, it’s a very interesting read and is now published.

I’m looking forward to your next submission and all the best.

Thanks for being so quick on it. I’m glad you enjoyed the story!

I do have a question. I only used the advanced editor because that was the only way I could find to submit it for review to be published. How is it possible to do that from the front-end editor?

If you use the front-end editor then once you hit save someone will soon jump in to edit, add more or generally collaborate.

If you have particular things in mind, such as indicating that you’ve finished or indeed are still working on it please write this in the story or on the TALK page.
