The AP discovered hundreds of cases of sexual abuse by clerics were reported in the past decade. Pakistani officials suspect that the problem may be endemic to a country where over two million children are taught in madrasas (religious schools). One anonymous official compared the situation to the abuse of children by priests in the Catholic Church. — George Engels
