Wikitribune fact checking writing style

Introduction :

Fact checking is not only about collecting facts and numbers and findings,  the language we use to communicate these is also very crucial, the goal of this draft is also to create a writing style that we all agree and use while writing the fact-checking reports.

Writing style main rules:

  • Always use neutral and objective language even if you are sure about the final findings.
  • Avoid using exclamation marks after rating the claims.
