Proposal for fact-check: Israel claims environmental organisation is linked to Hezbollah

Israel’s military, the IDF, claims the environmental organisation Green Without Borders is used as cover for Hezbollah observation posts.  This has been denied by the UN.

Here are two articles from the Times of Israel outlining the situation:

IDF says Hezbollah still on border illegally, posing as environmental NGOUN denies Israeli claims Hezbollah posing as green NGO

UN denies Israeli claims Hezbollah posing as green NGO

I can’t find any decent sources (especially of the opposite side) so I thought this would be something for Wikitribune.

Also I have not a clue what I’m doing, but this looked like a forum and is called community portal so that’s a lot more accessible than Wikipedia, which I’m probably never getting into – scary AF.

But feel free to delete this if I’m doing anything wrong.

The most important questions that should be addressed are:

  1. is this claim valid?
  2. what does Green Without Borders do?
  3. if it’s valid, why would Hezbollah use this organisation?
  4. if it’s not valid, why would Israel criticize this organization?
