According to a 2010 The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey 2010 Findings on Victimization by Sexual Orientation survey conducted by the CDC : According to a 2010 The National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey 2010 Findings on Victimization by Sexual Orientation survey conducted by the CDC :

Four in 10 lesbian women (43.8%), 6 in 10 bisexual women (61.1%), and 1 in 3 heterosexual women (35.0%) reported experiencing rape, physical violence, and/or stalking within the context of an intimate partner relationship at least once during their lifetime

Four in 10 lesbian women (43.8%), 6 in 10 bisexual women (61.1%), and 1 in 3 heterosexual women (35.0%) reported experiencing rape, physical violence, and/or stalking within the context of an intimate partner relationship at least once during their lifetime

Even excluding stalking and rape, the report found 23.6% of heterosexual women (96.5% of the sample of 9,970 women called in 2010) had experienced at least one form of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in her lifetime and 29.8% had been slapped, pushed or shoved, with higher rates for other women.
Unfortunately the combined overall rate of domestic violence (of the various types they classified them as) was not published, nor was any record made of violence inflicted by non-intimate partners. No attempt was made to transform the reported rates across all age groups to an estimated full-lifetime rate for all women. Unfortunately the combined overall rate of domestic violence (of the various types they classified them as) was not published, nor was any record made of violence inflicted by non-intimate partners. Given the uncertainty in the current reported rates, and what the rates will be in future, Pelosi's 33% estimate seems quite reasonable. Given the uncertainty in the current reported rates, and what the rates will be in future, Pelosi's 33% estimate seems quite reasonable.
