A <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/danforth-logan-shooting-1.4757409">shooting incident in the city of Toronto, Canada</a> (<em>CBC</em>) on Sunday July 22, reportedly killed one victim and injured 13 people. According to police, one suspected gunman is also dead. Authorities are currently investigating possible motives for the attack.  A <a href="http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/danforth-logan-shooting-1.4757409">shooting incident in the city of Toronto, Canada</a> (<em>CBC</em>) on Sunday July 22, reportedly killed two victim and injured 12 people. One victim was injured and in critical care and later died in hospital. According to police, one suspected gunman is also dead. Authorities are currently investigating possible motives for the attack.

There has been a recent increase in gun violence in Canada's biggest city. The <a href="https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/toronto/article-one-dead-13-injured-gunman-killed-in-toronto-mass-shooting/"><em>Globe and Mail</em></a> reported that prior to this weekend there had been 220 shootings, which would make 2018 a record year if this rate continues. There was also a spike in shootings in 2005, described by some sections of the media as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Toronto#2005%E2%80%93present:_%22Year_of_the_Gun%22,_shootings_and_the_falling_murder_rate" rel="external nofollow">the “Year of the Gun.”</a>  There has been a recent increase in gun violence in Canada's biggest city.
