Help! In a subtlety that may be lost on most amateur students of the art of swearing, or the English language for that matter, the White House appears to be "flying a kite" with the suggestion that the president of the United States was misquoted as calling Haiti and African countries "shitholes". What he really said was apparently "shithouse".
The New York Times quoted a source -- using the classically discreet -- "on condition of anonymity" as saying President Trump said "shithouse countries" not "shithole". While that's a distinction that may escape many people it fits with Trump's insistence in a Tweet after the row broke that he had used "tough" language but not the exact word.

However, the discreet leak of an alternative vulgarity is unlikely to assuage the African Union, the United Nations, Haiti or any number of other groups and people taken aback that the leader of the free world would right off entire nations as "shit-"...whatevers.
Shall we go back and correct our existing stories to adjust the epithet? Use TALK to tell us now please.
