I just came upon a similar site by DW Deutsche Welle. Since there seems to be no overview page, I’ll give search links. The site startet 20th June, 2017.

The prime minister invited a no-confidence motion from Labour immediately following the defeat of the vote on her deal, and promised time the following day to debate it. She also said that if Labour didn’t make such a challenge but a smaller party did then the House would debate it the following day. Corbyn and Labour then immediately tabled one.

It wasn’t that Labour made the challenge and May accepted.

This was obviously a strategy by the PM. A quick vote presumably reduced the chances alliances being formed between politicians and meant that the following day’s news cycle was focussed on the confidence vote more than the crushing defeat of the deal.

      Hi Steve,
You’re right, the section was poorly worded and I’ve made changes to try and reflect the events more accurately. Thanks for the suggestion.
