In 2014, China released a roadmap indicating they would release new “social credit” system which allows the government to closely monitor and judge each of its 1.3 billion citizens based on their behaviour and activity. In Nov. 2018, the Beijing municipal government released its plan to assign “personal trustworthiness points” by 2021, sparking a new round of media attention.
