People across Idlib filled the streets after prayers on Friday, which is expected to be the site of one of the Syria’s Civil wars last and most hard fought campaigns.
Already the area has been bombed and shelled regularly by government and allied forces including the Russian air force.(Guardian)
Despite this, many held signs signalling their defiance and unwillingness to either flee, or return to government rule.
One man told a reporter for the Agence France-Presse, referencing the Assad government’s support from the government of Iran, one protester “we are not satisfied that the fate of idlib is being decided in Tehran” and went on to say “we all refuse to return to the rule of Bashar Al-Assad”.
