Talk for Article "Briefing: Trump moves away from healthcare deal, Iran threatens to ‘shred’ nuclear accord, China’s president speaks of ‘new era’"

Talk about this Article

  1. I like the new “Current Affairs” label for the Briefing. Gives you much more latitude to include stories from all sorts of areas.

  2. Hi, folks – the first item under Update seem to be written as if readers are so deeply immersed in the topic that they immediately know what you’re referring to. (We in the States sometimes use the term “inside baseball.”) Try to avoid saying “being perceived” because it naturally raises the question, “Perceived by whom?”

The Flynas item needs to speak more plainly:

For the first time in 27 years, a Saudi Arabian airline flew from Riyadh to Baghdad in a move to bolster commercial ties and challenge Iran’s influence.
conflict since 2011. Commercial flights between the two countries had been severed since the 1991 Gulf War.

  3. Suggested headline change: … ‘first Saudi direct flight to Iraq in 27 years’

    1. Changing now – sorry, it wasn’t meant to be published like that. Technical issue. Thanks.
