I found this tweet from ACLU, may fit as an independent source:

    https://twitter.com/ACLU/status/1031205398278295552

The tweets says ” As of last week, more than 560 children were still separated from their parents”

        Thanks both,

When Jack contacted the ACLU they replied to say that: “There have been court-ordered status reporters through the case proceedings so this is based on the most recent one. The next one will be filed tonight at 6pm ET [August 23].

        https://www.aclu.org/legal-document/ms-l-v-ice-joint-status-report-2.

Here is the most recent one.”

I’ll embed this in the document and update the fact check now.

Could we publish that directly? I assume that’s an email response, it would be good for transparency to publish both the email inquiry and the full response?

I’m not sure how we would attach that to this story, so I’m just asking so we can discuss and think about it.

With things like this previously, we’ve put them in the sources and references section. Will do that while we ponder other options.
