    It might be worth mentioning that most porcelain, unlike latex condoms, is porous, and the fact that viruses, as opposed to bacteria, can pass through porcelain, such as a Pasteur-Chamberland filter, has been known since the 1890s — indeed this fact was instrumental in the discovery of the virus.
