Peter Ryan, professor of applied security at the University of Luxembourg, told WikiTribune, “You hear claims that blockchain can solve the online voting problem. In my view, that is completely false.” 

Steve Schneider, cyber-security professor at Surrey University told WikiTribune via email:There is much talk of blockchain being used as a new online secure method for voting, however, there are many issues within electronic voting that are not solved by blockchain in itself, including eligibility to vote, voter authentication, vote privacy [and] resistance to coercion of voters.”
