Sen Dianne Feinstein on Twitter

When Justice Scalia died NINE months before an election, ALL Judiciary Committee Republicans agreed to take NO ACTION on ANY nominee. They said the American people deserve a voice in who will sit on the Supreme Court. If it was true then, it must be true now. #SaveSCOTUS

Claim: ALL Judiciary Committee Republicans agreed to take NO ACTION on ANY nominee [To fulfill Scalia’s seat]

Fact check: True. All 11 Republican members of the Senate Judiciary in February 2016 pledged to not hold any hearings for Supreme Court nominees until January 2017, after the 2016 president elections. Even Sen. Orrin Hatch signed onto the memorandum despite saying that President Barack Obama’s selection of Merrick Garland was “no question” someone who could be confirmed by the Senate (New Republic).
