Who funded this study? Is there conflict of interest? This is important information that I see in basically 0% of articles like this. If the study was funded by Eli Lily then that ought to be included in the article.

“Anti-depressant controversy settled, says Pharmaceutical Company Employee.”

The study was funded by the National Institute for Health Research Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. I will add this in.

Possibly worth mentioning who the NIHR are (they’re a government funded UK organisation, part of the NHS).

Even if they work, one of the side effects on half of them is ‘death’ I personally won’t touch them with a barge pole if the time comes.

The title runs “Antidepressants work”, I think this is a very open for interpretation title. Does it work for curing depression or does it just have a positive effect (big or small). The article itself states “All antidepressants were more efficacious than placebo in adults with major depressive disorder.”.

Maybe we can align the title to these findings. So rewrite the title to something more in the lines of “Antidepressants do have a positive effect on depression”.

Hi Marijn, have changed the headline to “Antidepressants effective”. How’s that?

Hi Merijn, thanks for the suggestion. I have changed the headline to “Antidepressants effective” to be more specific.
