A suicide attack in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, has killed at least 40 people and wounded 30 so far, according to Interior Ministry deputy spokesman Nasrat Rahimi, as reported by Reuters.

Several explosions occurred in the offices of Afghan Voice, a news agency, and a neighbouring Shiite cultural centre. It is not yet known who was behind the attack. President Ashraf Ghani’s spokesman issued a statement describing the attack as an “unpardonable” crime against humanity and pledging to destroy terrorist groups. The attack is the latest in a series targeting Afghan media groups. Last month, an attack on a private television station, Shamshad TV, saw two die and 20 injured. Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
